This site is put together by people who have been coming to Mentone since they were children. It is not the tourism board and it is not the town, which means we can say what we actually think, and it also means we get things wrong sometimes and would rather hear about it from you than not.

Not a link, on purpose. Type it in and the address harvesters do not get it. Attachments are fine, and if you are sending photographs of your business for a listing, the bigger the files the better.
Photographs
If you have pictures of Mentone you would be willing to let us use, get in touch first and tell us roughly what you have and roughly when they were taken. We will come straight back to you with somewhere to send them.
Please do not attach them to your first message. Good photographs are almost always too big to email, and we would much rather have them at full size than shrunk down to fit through an inbox.
Anything we publish is credited to the photographer unless you ask us not to, and nobody is asked to hand over ownership of their pictures. They stay yours.
Get your business listed
A basic listing is free. Name, what you are, where you are, hours, phone, and a link out to your own site. That is the whole deal and there is no catch in it.
If you want a page of your own with photographs, a description and a booking link, we can do that too. Send us a message and we will explain how it works and what it costs, in plain numbers, before you commit to anything.
Either way, send us your hours. Half the frustration a visitor has in this town comes from turning up somewhere on the wrong day.
Something here is wrong
Tell us. Hours change, businesses move, festivals get renamed, and we would much rather be corrected than leave a visitor driving to a place that closed in 2013. Every page on this site carries the date it was last checked.
If it is your business we have described and you do not like how we described it, say so and we will talk about it.
On Facebook
The Mentone.com page has about four and a half thousand followers and it moves faster than this site does. Road closures, whether the falls are running, what is open on a Monday in February.
What we will not do
- Write a kinder review because somebody paid for a listing. Paid placement buys position on the page, not praise in a guide.
- Publish a private individual’s address, or a photograph of somebody’s house, without asking first.
- Pretend a business is open when it is not.
